Startup Weekend Boston

Just a quick note. When you pull up to 320 Nevada Street you need to walk around to the back of the building to the smoke stack. There is no signage at the door for Axom Labs so be aware of that. Any problems you could always call Jeff at 401.864.2718

Day 2 for a lot of us here in Boston and it’s been a great time so far. Great laughs and good times with great people for sure. The energy from those that I’ve been able to chat with is through the roof and I know we’re all looking forward to a great weekend starting tonight at 6pm.

Last night a few of us headed to a local watering hole and tossed some ideas back and forth. Some ideas much better than others although I’m not quite sure we really agreed on any of them making it to a pitch tonight.

At any rate we’re all sitting here in Espresso Royale enjoying some tasty beverages and some light fare. Who do I mean by everyone? Andrew, Ben, Chris, Jeremy, Gwen, Mike and Me.

Time to go brainstorm a bit. We’ll catch you all tonight at 6pm and online all weekend right here at the BSW Blog.

Sitting here in Boulder I’ve been thinking what it’s going to be like coming home to my home territory for the first time since I’ve moved out here. I am so used to the Boulder energy that when I go elsewhere I am almost disappointed with the lack of creative atmosphere I am surrounded by in each particular place.

Boston I’ve been told is going to be different. Looking over the “has tickets” list I can say that I am officially stoked about all the people I see on the list. It should be a great weekend for creatives, techies and everyone else who participates. I’m looking forward to meeting like minded people in New England that I had a hard time finding when I was out there for the past 25 years. Perhaps I was too close minded to even give Boston a chance. Perhaps I thought that it was like the rest of New England which is not as strong in the tech market as where I live now. I’ve done some research and noticed that Boston seems like quite the place for technology folks to get together.

That being said my attitude towards the technology and creative atmosphere in New England has changed and I’m happy about that. I’m ready to be blown away even more by everyone. I hope we all walk away from this weekend proud of what we are going to accomplish, happy with our newfound relationships and enlightened about the different areas of technology that exist across the country.

I’ll see you all soon and I can’t wait to see what all of our minds can create over the weekend.

Friday we start at 6pm. Saturday and Sunday at 9am. We’ll discuss end times as a group.

What do I need to bring?
Besides yourself you mean? Bring your laptop along with you as computers are not supplied. Be sure to bring a fresh mind and some serious motivation. Without those two things we’re stuck treading water. So get some good sleep in the next few days because you’ll need it.

The weekend is a few days away and I’ve received a few requests about times for each day. That being said I’ll be doing a post either tomorrow or Tuesday outlining everything you need to know for Startup Weekend Boston. Stay tuned for that a few other posts coming before the weekend starts.

With Boston Startup Weekend just over a week away we figured we let everyone know where we will be hosted. Axon Labs will be hosting the weekend and they are located at 320 Nevada Street, Newton, MA.

We’ll be posting here on a regular basis from here on out so be sure to check back often for more details.
